DimeStories Submission Agreement

We are delighted that you are interested in submitting your story for consideration to be part of the national radio series, DimeStories.  As you will see, you will retain ownership of your story, however, you are granting DimeStories the license to duplicate, display, transmit, etc. your story, and story-writing reflections, in all media. 

DimeStories promotes the free exchange of stories through media, outreach, and educational activities.  By clicking the I ACCEPT button below you affirm that this story is original to you, that you own all necessary rights to this work, and that the story does not defame or otherwise violate the rights, copyrights, trademarks, privacy, or reputation of any third party.

You grant DimeStories a non-exclusive, assignable, royalty-free, perpetual world-wide permanent license to duplicate, display, distribute, excerpt, or transmit the story and story-writing reflections, in any format or media known or hereafter known. DimeStories shall have the right to own or register copyrights to any works or compilations created by DimeStories that contain the story, in whole or in part.

You agree to indemnify and hold DimeStories and National Public Radio harmless against any claims asserted by any third parties that allege the story violates their rights, or from any breach by you of your promises in this agreement.  You shall be responsible for any costs incurred by DimeStories for defense or settlement of third-party claims, including but not limited to DimeStories’ reasonable attorneys' fees.

You understand that submitting a story does not guarantee that your work will be used, displayed, or otherwise reproduced. Stories, and story-writing reflections, may be archived for public use, or reproduced in audio form, published in print or online, or in any other way. The decision of which and how stories, and story-writing reflections, will be used will be at the sole discretion of DimeStories. If the story is accepted for recording and broadcast, you shall in a timely manner read your story aloud which DimeStories or its assignee shall record.  You will be compensated in the amount of $200.00 (United States Dollars), which will be sent to you within 30 days after the date your story is recorded, and this shall constitute your sole and complete compensation for all rights granted hereunder.
You affirm that you are at least 18 years of age and possess the legal right and ability to enter into this agreement, or that you are the parent or legal guardian of the minor who is submitting the story.

In the event that your work is selected, a formal signed copy of the agreement will be sent to you with terms that may supercede this description. If you do not agree to be bound by each of the terms and conditions of this agreement, you will not be allowed to complete the submission process.
